Swimming
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at the Broadwater District swimming carnival last week. Special congratulations to Cooper and Zahra for qualifying for South Coast Regional Swimming Carnival to be held on 01 March and good luck to both athletes when they represent us.
Touch football tournament
Coomera Rivers sent away 3 teams to a touch competition organised by the Girls Sport Academy at Keebra Park. Our girls played 4 games each, as well work on their skills and game play. For many of our girls this was their first game of touch, and it was great to see them giving it their best and working hard for each other. The sun was definitely shining and the heat was turned right up, but the girls didn't let that stop them.
Thank you to the parents who came to support our girls who were out there playing.
Coaches from Keebra announced the following girls as Players of the Day:
- Coomera Blue: Remmy
- Coomera Green: Alicia
- Coomera White: Scarlett
Kokoda Schools Challenge
Our Kokoda Challenge team are conducting the first training session of the year at Purlingbrook Falls (very early) Saturday morning. Hopefully the weather will enable the students, teachers and parents to enjoy the hike and breath-taking views.
Pre-Service Teacher
You may notice another member of the HPE team working with our students this term. Her name is Claire Horn. Miss Horn is a fourth year student from Griffith University. She will be working with us up until the holidays.
Netball trials
Any outstanding netballers (aged between 10-12) are encouraged to trial for the Broadwater District squad. We will be conducting our school trials on Tuesday at second break on the outdoor netball courts (or hall in the event of inclement weather).
Hockey trials
Any students aged between 10-12 who are talented hockey players are encouraged to see Mr Burrows or Mr Raffin for information about the Broadwater District Hockey Trials.
