Principal's news

Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues

Welcome back to Term 2.  This term is 10 weeks long and has 48 school days - 5 of which we have just completed.  This first week back has been very busy with our cross-country, our school ANZAC Day service and the introduction of Loose Parts play.

I have been so proud and impressed with the students this week as they showed:

  • tremendous leadership and courage leading the school ANZAC service
  • teamwork and courage in their involvement in the cross-country carnival.  It takes bravery to recognise that while you may not be the best runner and you won't win, you give your all nonetheless
  • authentic creativity and enjoyment in their Loose Parts play.  The laughter was contagious and watching the older students play with the Preps with absolute acceptance and care was wonderful.

I would also like to acknowledge the wonderful teamwork shown by our staff as we conducted the cross-country carnival and ANZAC Day service.  The logistics behind the running of these events is very complex, and it takes a staff team to make them successful in order to iron out all of the small matters that unexpectedly crop up.  And the fact that you don't notice these things happen is testament to the excellent work of this team.

I also want to thank the families who supported the events this week as well, either on site or from home or work.  You complete the sense of success and add so much spirit to what we do.

Student resource scheme

Please make sure that you honour any debts that you may have with the school, by keeping up with regular repayments of the student resource scheme.  Non-payment results in restrictions - something that neither the school nor your family want.

The resource scheme is the most cost-effective way to manage the costs of activities that your children are involved in at school.  Involvement in the scheme makes a lot of sense and will save you a large amount of money across the year.

About 20 families have chosen to not be part of the scheme, which is quite ok although these families will need to provide the resources for their child and/or pay the invoices that will be sent to them.

I hope that everyone is able to make the most of the long weekend ahead.

Kind regards

Vic
