Sports news

State sport

Si'u and Noah have been selected to represent South Coast at the Queensland rugby league competition later this month.  Travelling to these carnivals and purchasing the uniform is very expensive so it is just so wonderful to see our community supporting these young athletes.

This week, Pip and Chris, parents of Carlos and Flynn and owners of Chadwick Constructions sponsonsored both Noah and Si'u, so that the boys can make the most of this experience.  It is gestures like this that show the true kindness within our community.  Thank you sincerely to Chadwick Constructions for this generosity.

Regional sport

Regional cross-country

On Tuesday, Mylah, Lana, Remmy, Leyla and Amity represented the Broadwater District at the South Coast Cross-Country Carnival. It is an outstanding achievement to attend this carnival, as it is the best runners on the Gold Coast racing each other. Our girls gave it their all and finished with big smiles on their face. Well done, girls. Thanks to the parents who went along to support, too.

Inter-school sport

Inter-school soccer

It was another great day out at inter-school sport, and our two soccer teams squared off against each other. It was great to see a high level soccer sill and great sportsmanship on display. We still have another 2 weeks to go for our Coomera Rivers ISS teams.

Table tennis champion shows her skills

Amy is a Queensland table tennis champion and she had an opportunity to show off her skills to staff and students with the recent addition of a table tennis table at our school.  She too on a very determined Mr Meijboom and I believe there was no loser.

Our school has applied for a grant to purchase more table tennis tables so other players can enjoy the sport.

Swimming achievement

Well done to Ashtiva at last weeend's swimming carnival.  She competed in 25m Butterfly, 25m Breaststroke, 25m Backstroke, and 25m Freestyle in the 7-8yr age group.

She placed 1st in all her races, broke 2 records (for Butterfly and Breaststroke), and received a silver placing for age champion.  Awesome swimming!
