Great work this week
The fire truck came to school
Year 2 had their Fire Education visit on the first day back of this term. It was great to have our guests out to talk about Fire Education and also show off their big red truck! The students were respectful, engaged and really enjoyed their experience!
In fact, Lacey from 2D went home to tell her family that she wants to become a firefighter and then proceeded to inspect the smoke alarms. This is such a heartwarming story!

Year 2 Digidesign study robots
The following photos show the Year 2 introductory lesson into digidesign. The students will be becoming familiar with driving a Sphero robot using their iPads to steer them. These spherical robots were highly engaging and this week, students experimented with speed and colour while navigating them around a string track. I have used these and they are tricky and fun!

Prep C reaches their century
Today, Prep C celebrated 100 days of school by creating their self-portraits. Congratulations Preppies! Lovely collage work too...
Writing stays in focus
We have been working hard on our writing this week and many students have achieved their writing goals and have their photos in the gallery below. You will also notice our writing stimulus with our very own Tree Beard (just like in The Lord of the Rings). The purpose this semester is to foster a love of writing through using an engaging stimulus and Tree Beard seems to fit the bill.

Puppies and an impressive class presentation
Bailey and Violet from 1N have been working on a presentation about puppies. They started working on it at school last term and worked on it more at home. Today, they presented their work in front of the whole class. They had typed up their information, displayed it in the Apple TV themselves and had supporting photos to elevate their presentation.
Everyone in 1N was very impressed with their hard work.
