Creating an OSHC Book of Records

It has been so lovely having all of our wonderful OSHC children and families return in Term 3.  We’ve had record numbers in week 1, with our biggest before and after school care sessions ever!  

We’ve really been focusing on starting our OSHC Records Book over the school holidays and would love to continue on with this throughout the term. The children get to choose what record they would like to break, meaning that each child can attempt something that they feel they can achieve as well as creating a sense of ownership. Some of the favourite records to break so far have been: 

• The fastest obstacle course run 
• Most basketball hoops in a row 
• Most ball bounces in a row 
• Longest skipping record 
• Airplane target practice 

On Thursday morning Mr Kyle ran another obstacle course to see whether the before school care children could beat the records that were set over the holidays. The children warmed themselves up before having their turns and gave it their best! There were certainly some impressive times that’s for sure, but unfortunately the record from vacation care is still the fastest. Not to worry though, there will be plenty of opportunities to set a new record over Term 3! What record would you break? It can be just about anything! Think outside the box and send us in your suggestions!
