The Power of Feedback

The students in 4K and 4B were lucky enough to receive feedback on their writing from buddies in 5/6CW, which they then used to help them edit and improve their work before submitting their   assessment piece. Partnerships with peers / buddies are a valuable learning and mentoring opportunity.

Hazards and benefits

It’s fantastic to see our students learning to identify safety hazards and assess and manage risk. This is an important skill to learn, that will be needed throughout life. We know that taking risks is good for children, as it helps them to develop an understanding of their limitations.

Our role is to help children learn about hazards, by providing the opportunity for them to discover for themselves. Loose Parts play offers a wide range of learning opportunities that welcome healthy risk, in a safe and supportive environment.

5SL are into Information Reports and these young authors were the best of the best this week.  Well done!

Debating success continues

I never cease to be amazed at the skill and courage of our debaters and their coaches.  The manner and passion in which they present their arguments and rebuttal is something to behold.  I know that I could not have done this at such an young age.  This is testament to their character and the coaching skills of their debating teachers.  Well done to all of our teams again this week.
