Wakakirri
What an amazing performance we had last Tuesday! The kids behaviour was outstanding and we had a brilliant time performing and watching other school's performance. Thank you to the Wakakirri teacher team and our parent helpers who made a long day run so smoothly.
Below is the report from the judge, James Lee:
A beautifully constructed piece - Opening in a school classroom with each child in the class representing each of the Chinese astrology signs. Stunning use of shadow puppetry to teach the students and clever use of soundtrack to compliment each of the signs. This all culminating in wonderful visit to Chinatown and that it encompasses. Design A+. Hold your heads very high.
Here are your performance and production awards highlighting the top 5 areas of your story:
- Excellent construction and clarity
- Excellent overall set design
- Excellent staging – combination of all aspects

- Excellent overall costume design
Congratulations! Your school received the following Story Award:

AMEB success
Ashtiva recently undertook (and passed) her Grade 1 Violin exam with the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), attaining an overall result of B+.
In order to pass her exam, Ashtiva had to play 3 pieces of music – William Tell Overture (by G Rossini), Wild Honey (by Louise Chamberlain), and Busybody (by Sheila Nelson) – as well as answer technical and general knowledge questions related to musical theory, and play various scales.
Congratulations Ashtiva.
