Mathletics Mastery

Congratulations to students in 2B and 1/2Mc who mastered Mathletics tasks over the past 2 weeks. Keep up the great work Year 2!

Learning in DigiDesign Term 3 = STEM

This term, Year 1 and 2 students are following the journey of Sir Harley Houndstooth III as he navigates being stuck on a deserted island after being shipwrecked following a terrible storm at sea. Sir Harley Houndstooth III needs to solve problems to help him stay alive and eventually be rescued. The last couple of weeks have seen our students use different materials, follow a design brief to design, sketch and build a bridge to help him reach fruit trees (high enough that the crocodiles won’t reach him) and a lookout tower to help him signal for help. Students are working collaboratively to come up with the best solutions to solve the problems and are so pleased when they pass the challenges each week.

In science, we actively collaborate to solve a team challenge and communicate ideas on how to get water from 1 bottle to another bottle using equipment supplied from loose parts. The students had so much fun with their learning.
