OSHC News - National Science Week
To celebrate National Science Week, the children experimented with chemical reactions, making their own lava lamps! Science is incredibly fascinating, and so important to teach our students, as it enables them to develop understanding, question theories, problem solve and think critically.
With the resources laid out on the table, the children were given a list of instructions to follow in order to create their Lava Lamps. After adding in the water, oil and food colouring, it was time for the exciting part; the chemical reaction. The children were so excited to drop in the tablet and watch as the Lava Lamp came to life. The children and educators hypothesised before researching why the tablet caused this observed reaction.
We love our science at OSHC, and can't wait to further extend on this experience!
