OSHC Update (Week 5)
Building a positive respect for Indigenous perspectives into our school and community is valued highly at Coomera Rivers OSHC. In recognition of National Sorry Day we have been exploring the Indigenous culture and beliefs through a range of artworks and activities, which the students have appreciated. Educators have enjoyed reading dream time stories to students and discussing the importance of all Australians recognising and celebrating National Sorry Day. Through our craft activities we have been investigating the meaning of the Aboriginal Flag along with different indigenous symbols and traditional artworks. The students thoroughly enjoyed using different material and mediums for their creations. Students have demonstrated their enthusiasm and curiosity to learn and understand other cultures and beliefs and their ability to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect.
