On excursion this week
On Monday, our Year 1 excursions to Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre commenced with 1K and 1J spending the day there. Students had a fantastic day exploring habitat boxes that were scattered around the centre and enjoyed learning about reptiles in the 'snake pit'. The highlight of the day for all students proved to be the visit to the mangroves. They loved getting muddy while learning about mangrove trees and going on crab hunts. The students' adventurous day led to some fantastic recount writing this week and was a perfect introduction for our Term 2 Science Unit. The remaining Year 1 classes will head off on their excursion next Monday and Tuesday.
