Celebration of learning
Students in 4M have been practising their fluency and expression in both Arts and in class, through reading poetry. Students pay special attention to the punctuation in the poems, lowering and raising their voices, reading at an appropriate rate and emphasising on some words. Students enjoyed completing a final activity where they could identify fluency errors and recording themselves reading these poems correctly.
Outstanding achievement
On Saturday, Ashtiva sat her Grade 3 AMEB exam(Australian Music Exam Board) for violin, attaining a grade of A(honours)! She spent many hours before and after school practising. In her exam, she played 4 pieces of music - Russian Fantasia #3 by Portnoff, Herman's Hornepipe by O'Connor, La Cinquantaine by Marie, and the more technically challenging Evening Prayer by Reinecke. She also answered various theory questions. Ashtiva is looking at undertaking her Grade 4 exam later this year.
