Principal's news
Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Term three has come to an end and it has been very successful. I am delighted with the achievements of our Wakkakirri and instrumental groups on their performances and recognition. Our sports teams have excelled on the court and field and I cannot recall our touch teams actually being beaten. Our eSports teams have once again achieved some incredible wins as they represented us. Well done to all involved.
A special thank you to our school staff and P&C for their contributions this term. Our school & community is made stronger because of the opportunities that you selflessly provide.
Looking at 2024
We are beginning to organise for our 2024 school year.
Leaving us: If your children are not returning to Coomera Rivers in 2024 (not the current Year 6 students), please email Kylie Finch at kfinc0@eq.edu.au to let us record this.
Joining us: We are still taking Prep enrolments for 2024 so if you are looking to enrol for 2024 please email Kylie Finch at kfinc0@eq.edu.au
School Litter Challenge
Over the past four weeks our Year 3-6 classes have participated in the School Litter Challenge. Together they collected over 1000 pieces of rubbish in the 10-minute pick up time. Their audit forms found that soft plastics were the most frequent litter item on our school grounds. The winning classes from the challenge were 6T, 5M, 4M and 3J. These classes participated in oval games as their award. Well done to all classes who participated to help make Coomera Rivers a clean and environmentally conscious school.
Thank you to the teachers for bringing this challenge to life.
Next term we begin our focus on Waste Free Wednesday where we encourage the use of packetless lunches.
Orange Sky charity
Thank you to everyone who supported the staff team as they completed the Sudsy Challenge this week. We raised over $2000 to support this awesome local charity.
Best wishes to Ms McIntosh who is taking maternity leave from today. Best wishes on a safe arrival very soon.
I hope that everyone has a lovely Spring vacation and is ready to go again on Tuesday 3 October at 8:30am.
Kind regards
Vic
