Celebration of Learning

In Term 4, Year 4 students have been learning about Time in Maths. Concepts studied include using measurement to operate and read analogue clocks, convert between units of time, use ‘am’ and ‘pm’ notation, comparing time durations, and solve problems involving time duration. This week, students participated in lessons where they had to calculate elapsed time using a number line strategy or a T strategy. An Amazing Race activity was structured to encourage collaboration and peer support to further develop the students’ understanding and application of elapsed time. Students had to find the different locations and answer questions using correct calculations of elapsed time and time differences. Students participated in the activity with an opportunity of feedback from the classroom teacher when required in preparation for their Time assessment.
