Celebrating Prep
What an exciting adventure starting prep! There has been so much to learn in the first few weeks, from simple things like where we can play at break times, to meeting Fred the Frog and being introduced to our first phonics lessons. The teachers have had a wonderful time getting to know all our prep students and showing them how much fun learning can be.

Celebrating Year 1
Year 1 students have enjoyed exploring and getting to know their new classrooms, play areas - and making new friends too. The teachers have been helping students settle back into class after break time with some relaxing mindfulness time, and shake their sillys out with fun movement breaks. They are getting into the swing of moving between classes and groups for their Read Write Inc phonics and reading lessons and showing off their counting skills.

Celebrating Year 2
The first few weeks of school are always a whirlwind of new friends, big feelings, hot days, bursting pencil cases, learning expectations and fun activities. The start of Year 2, 2024 did not disappoint! We’ve spent some quality time getting to know each other, and learning how to work effectively as a team of Cogs. Some classes visited Miss Lander’s Book Café to get a taste of some new books and genres, and we visited the iCentre to see the mysterious chest and creature that arrived at Coomera Rivers. According to students’ writing there are pirates, dragons, hydras, dinosaurs and monsters loose at our school! We’ve now started our writing units on recounts, and the first of many exciting experiences that will be the basis of our writing. 2B were certainly shocked to find their classroom transformed into a lava filled volcano zone. Watch your step!
