Celebrating Year 3

Fun with Data in 3J

3J students have been engaging in exciting lessons on data in the classroom. They've been actively involved in asking questions and using tally marks to gather information from their classmates. After collecting their data, students have been skilfully representing it in various types of graphs, enhancing their understanding of visual representations of data. These activities have made learning about data fun and helped develop important skills in mathematics.

Celebrating Year 4

Year 4 students are reading Birrung the Secret Friend as a class novel. Weekly activities around this class novel include summarising historical facts about Australia, identifying the main idea from each chapter, illustrating a main idea from each chapter, mentor sentences, vocabulary and diary recount writing. Students are participating in lessons where they use the main ideas from each chapter and turn them into a diary recount, taking on the character of Barney Bean. This week’s chapter was about Barney Bean experiencing his first Christmas with the Johnson family.

Celebrating Year 5

This week, students have been learning about 'Size of the Problem', and setting behaviour and learning goals, as part of our Good at Learning Good at Life program.

Size of the Problem helps students identify the appropriate reaction to match the severity of a problem. When students have a common language to describe their problems and reactions, they can better identify solutions.

Celebrating Year 6

6F have decided to buddy up with a class in our junior school, 1L, and not only get to know them and help them with learning but also put a huge smile on their faces in the process. What a great example of our senior students leading! Thank you and keep up the great work, Mrs Fischer and 6F :)
