Celebrating learning

Prep
Our prep students celebrated reaching 100 days of school this week. To mark the milestone they were invited to dress as either a 100 year old person or in bright colours to signify that ther were so much 'brighter' since commencing prep. It was a fun way to celebrate their learning journey so far. Our teachers have also been looking out for students to award GEM awards to in class. These are given to students who show gratitude, empathy and kindness or demonstrate mindfulness.

Year 1
Year 1 students have been having fun retelling beloved picture books in a variety of ways - including making their own story character puppets. As per other year levels, the students also explored what the meaning of NAIDOC week and visited the Yarning Circle to share in some first nations stories.

Year 2

2M have settled back into learning after the school holidays with excitement about the term ahead. We have already learned what an onomatopoeia is and how we can use it at the beginning of a story to create a sizzling start and grab the reader’s attention. We have been deep diving into shapes, exploring both 2D and 3D forms. 

In Science this term, we are looking forward to Outer Space Exploration and studying Celestial Objects in the Solar System. HASS has also produced some excitement as we explore the Geography of our Universe, identifying people and places around the world and understanding how we are all connected.
