Public Speaking
On Monday, 16 students, along with Mrs. Hardwick and Mrs. Ellison, attended the A.B Paterson Public Speaking Competition. The Year 4 students participated this year not as competitors, but to present their speeches and develop their public speaking skills in preparation for next year. They did an outstanding job and received valuable feedback from the adjudicators to help further enhance their abilities.
Our Year 5 and 6 students took part in the fierce competition, going up against students from all around the Gold Coast. All the participants showed a great sense of accomplishment and represented our school with immense pride. We are incredibly proud of the achievements made on Monday!
A select group of students—Ashtiva, Taylor, Phoenix, and Baylin—were invited back on Tuesday night to compete in the finals. They all did a fantastic job, speaking clearly, enthusiastically, and confidently despite the added pressure. While none made it through to the grand finals, their performances were truly commendable.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated and can't wait to see them—and even more students—return next year to continue developing their public speaking skills!
