Principal's news
Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
This has been a sensational week at school. We squeezed in Day for Daniel personal safety lessons, our Book Fair, Staff Appreciation Day and Principal's Breakfast - all on top of our regular lessons and learning. Well done teachers and staff on making everything work so well.
Principal's breakfast
Each of our three school BBQ's were at full throttle this morning as we prepared for the Principal's breakfast sausage sizzle. It is no easy feat to cook 600 sausages in an hour but we got it done very successfully. All of the feedback from students was very positive. Thank you to our staff for cooking and serving our breakfast this morning. Special thanks to our P&C for supplying everything and to Tony for setting up and packing away.

Day for Daniel
Thursday and Friday at school saw classes involved in the personal safety and e-Safety lessons associated with the Day for Daniel - Keeping Kids Safe Resources. These are designed to help keep children safe. Thank you to our teachers for implementing these programs so skilfully. Thank you also to the many parents who have been researching the programs on-line so they can support at home.
2O recognised Day for Daniel today and enjoyed free dress day
Queensland All Schools touch football carnival
Coomera Rivers is preparing for the Queensland All School's touch football carnival next weekend (Friday - Sunday). Schools from all over Queensland will be participating in this enormous carnival. Coomera Rivers has a proud history in the carnival and last year, our girl's team was runners up and our boy's team was the champion school. We were the best performing school at the tournament.
Representing the school is a privilege and requires outstanding conduct both on and off the field. Expectations include:
- Player uniform: Team uniform in non-negotiable. All players must wear the complete team uniform. Correct school hat or cap, team shirt, team shorts, plain white tennis/crew socks and correct footwear are required. As they are representing the school, no club or other representative clothing can be worn. Players will miss match time if they fail to meet this requirement or cannot play until their team uniform is corrected.
** Players are required to wear their sports shoes or playing shoes across the day.
** No thongs or crocs etc are acceptable for our players at the carnival at any time.
- Player conduct: Players must display appropriate conduct at all times and play for fun - fitness - friendship. Poor sportsmanship or behaviour on or off the field will result in players missing game time. This includes challenging a referee's decisions either on the field of from the sideline.
- Respect for referees: All spectators, families and friends are required to display appropriate positive and respectful conduct at all times. The referees will make errors of judgement and this is part and parcel of the game. Disrespectful behaviours by family members and friends may result in the player being removed from the game or even the carnival.
- Respect for coaches: The coaches are giving their time freely across the weekend. Their job is to lead the teams and promote fun - fitness - friendship. Their decisions about the team are final. Please do not challenge these as they have the best interests of our students and school at heart.
- Have fun: And most of all, enjoy the opportunity. It will be an exhausting weekend that will be remembered for all the right reasons.
Breakfast club starts Monday
Our school has sought funding to operate a breakfast club each morning. Items on our menu will be available to any student who wishes to take them for breakfast, snack break, morning tea, or lunch.
I encourage students to help themselves to items.
IMPORTANT: If your child has allergies they will need to be aware of what they can and cannot take from the snack trolley. I require parents to monitor this as the school is not able to match foods to particular student health needs. The school will provide the menu of available items for the following week so please discuss these with your child.
