Prep

In Science lessons, prep students have been investigating the movement of objects including rolling, spinning, bouncing and sliding. We have explored classroom materials, discussed our findings and grouped the objects based on how they move.

Students have explored and created marble runs in small groups. This included working as a group to plan how their marble will travel through the marble run and building this while working collaboratively. Hearing our preppies working together, laughing and cheering when their marble successfully moved through the course was something truly special!

We had so much fun having a bowling alley in our Prep classroom for our Science Assessment. We had to pick two balls and explain why we chose those balls in a prediction and then discuss how many pins the balls knocked down. We wish we could have the bowling alley in our room all the time!

We also have been very busy writing back to our pen pals at another school, they sent us long letters with pictures and really made us excited and happy to receive them! We took our time to write back to them and even watched a video of them being posted by Miss Marlow.

Year 1

This term, 1L has been diving into the exciting world of procedural writing! The students have had a blast following and writing various procedures through hands-on activities. So far, they’ve learned how to blow bubbles with bubble gum (shh… don’t tell Mr. Graham we had gum at school ?), crafted Halloween decorations, and made treats like fairy bread and popcorn. This week, they had fun creating slime and even made a special candle holder for Remembrance Day. It’s been a fantastic way to bring writing to life!

Year 2

Math in 2O this week: We covered a range of math activities, engaging students in both foundational skills and challenging concepts.

Remembrance Observance: We took time to honour those who served in wars, reflecting on their sacrifices.

Semester Testing Prep: Students have been diligently preparing for upcoming semester assessments.

Wet Weather Fun: Despite the rain, we enjoyed some indoor activities, keeping spirits high during wet weather days.
