Principal's news
Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
We have completed 39 school weeks and just the final 10 days of the school year lay ahead. These two weeks are filled with celebrations and recognition so please keep checking the school calendar for dates and times. I was speaking with some of the Year 6 students this week and while most are excited about graduating to high school, most were very nervous - particularly with leaving their friends and teachers.
Monitor on-line activities
It is vital that, as adults, we monitor the on-line activities of our children - especially messaging. I have been in communication with families across the past few weeks regarding this. I am concerned with how quickly small groups of children can electronically isolate a student - then pick on them with name calling, threats and put downs. This is cyber-bullying.
Please monitor your child's on-line behaviours with the intent of teaching them appropriate and safe behaviours. Stop - Block - Report. Click here for more eSafety information.
Time to shine
The annual Time to Shine concert was held this week was it was once again amazing. Thank you to our talented staff for their work in the arts this year. Thank you also to the many parents who insisted their children practice - when they really didn't want to - and encouraged them at performance time. And thank you to the performers who made the night amazing!

Year 6 Foam day
The annual Colour Run was postponed this year and will be held in term 1 of 2025. And so that our Year 6 students didn't miss the fun, we held a special day - just for them and their teachers. Thank you to the P&C and OSHC staff for giving us a great event.

Week 11
We have nearly finished all of the academic requirements for the year. The last of them will be completed next week (Week 10). School continues in Week 11 with alternate programs that will include class celebrations, senior school swimming carnivals, graduation and Christmas activities. We do not consider school to be optional across Week 11 and will be continuing on.
Students will need to wear school uniform every school day.

- Items are available on a first in basis.
- They will be available all day from 8.00am – 3.00pm or until collected.
- We cannot hold uniform items.
Students teaching students
On Tuesday afternoon 3M visited 5/6B for some shared reading. 3M have been writing fantasy narratives this term and over the past week, students have been busy publishing their writing into a book. The students in 5/B were great listeners. They then gave our students some very in depth feedback on their reading and writing as well as some tickled pink and green for growth feedback.
It was a fabulous half an hour of sharing.

Junior Arts - Christmas plasticine
Some Year 1 and 2 students have had the opportunity to learn how to manipulate and mould plasticine into a Christmas tree in their Arts classes this week. They all had a lot of fun experimenting and using their imaginations in how to cut, decorate and create patterns in their trees.

Queenstown marathon
Congratulations to Reggie for his efforts at the Queenstown Marathon carnival recently. He was proudly proudly wearing his Coomera Rivers Kokoda competition shirt when he ran in the kids run at Queenstown Marathon last Saturday. A wonderful achievement.

Have a lovely weekend
Kind regards
