Celebrations of Learning
Prep
In Prep F we started to investigate the mass of a variety of objects in the room. Students had a lot of fun making comparisons between and heavier and lighter and were quite often surprised that the size of an object did not influence its’ mass.
We also practised our subitising and counting skills matching a number to a collection.
Year 1
1H Living Things Investigators
This week 1H enjoyed getting their hands muddy and their feet wet while investigating living things on our excursion to Jacob’s Well Environmental Centre. Our trusty bus driver drove an excited group of year 1 students through the sugar cane to the Environmental Centre. On arriving we were given raincoats to wear as it was raining. We then investigated the mangroves and discovered living things like mangrove trees, crabs, fish and birds. We even got to hunt for the crabs and put mud on our faces. After lunch we went in the freshwater pond and discovered many little minibeast that live in this habitat.
Learning has never been so much fun!

Year 2
This week, Year 2 students stepped back in time during our exciting excursion to the Beenleigh Historical Village. They loved exploring all the fascinating things from the olden days! Highlights included climbing aboard a vintage fire truck and spraying a target with the hose, checking out the old Coomera lock-up, and discovering what school life was like in the past. The students were also intrigued by the historical post office, dairy, and general store—just to name a few! It was a fun and educational day filled with curiosity and wonder.
