Celebrations of Learning
Informative Writing
Across the school students have been practising their Informative Writing! Come in to the I-centre to check out some of our WOW work from across the school!
Year 3
This week, Year 3 students enhanced their multiplicative skills through a hands-on exploration of arrays. During the active-learning, students used a variety of manipulatives to engage in differentiated activities. This supported students' conceptual understanding, using rows and columns to visually represent one and two-digit numbers, while forming number sentences to build mathematical fluency. Students also developed their collaboration and communication skills through this peer-learning opportunity. Well done students!
Year 4
In Science, we have been learning about the water cycle through engaging activities like dance and text analysis. They've also investigated the impact of pollution on our waterways and explored practical solutions they can implement, such as recycling. In Math, the focus has been on time, specifically estimation and duration. To make learning fun and meaningful, students played a silent ball game while tracking and comparing the actual game duration to their estimates. It’s been a week full of curiosity, creativity, and hands on learning.
Year 5
5L Buddy Activities Highlight Our Week
Every Thursday afternoon 5L students demonstrate their leadership skills by interacting with 1A. The children have enjoyed being read to, art and craft activities, outdoor games including skipping and sing-alongs. The smile on children’s faces say how much they appreciate each other’s company.

Year 6
This term in Science, Year 6 students have been exploring the planets of our solar system. They have researched detailed facts about each planet and recorded this information in their planet books. This process has helped them compare the characteristics of different planets. Additionally, students have studied planetary orbits during their English structured literacy lessons. Overall, the students have greatly enjoyed learning about these fascinating topics.

Students across the school have been doing activities to recognise Reconciliation Week. 6T students created some indigenous art work as an activity.
