Celebrations of Learning

Prep

Our Prep classes had so much fun visiting SeaWorld! We braved the cool weather and got to explore some of the ocean animals that we have learnt about this term. Prep students have been learning how to write an information text, describing features of the animals body, what they eat and writing an favourite interesting fact! At Seaworld we saw the dolphins spin and flip, penguins waddling around, jellyfish and their long tentacles. The slimly stingrays were a highlight for some. This week in Prep J, we wrote what we saw at SeaWorld and were able to paint a picture to match.

Year 1

Did you know bees flap their wings 200 times in one second?

1B have learnt lots of informative and interesting facts about bees this past fortnight as a provocation for our amazing writing. Students have been using a planning sheet to record their facts, then add their knowledge into an information report. Students have been trying hard to bump up their writing achievements by adding punctuation, adjectives and the special words we’ve learnt. 1B are learning to utilise the tools and learning walls around the classroom to build on their writing.

We have seen so much progress this term with our writing and 1B should be very proud of their achievements!

Year 2

It's been a busy one in 2O this week with both Maths and Literacy assessments. Although the students were a little tired, they showed great perseverance and gave their best effort. I'm very proud of how hard they worked!
