OSHC News
Over the past few weeks at OSHC, our children had lots of fun engaging in a range of programmed and spontaneous activities.
In the hall, the children transformed into magic K-pop Demon Hunter dancers, releasing their powerful dance moves in a showcase for everyone in the hall. Dancing together gave the children a strong sense of belonging, as they supported each other, corrected mistakes with kindness, and celebrated their shared love for music. Children took the lead, proudly sharing the moves he has been practising, inspiring his peers to join in and express themselves through rhythm and movement.
For arts and crafts, the children did a magnetic painting experiment, which captured the children’s imaginations. The children used magnets to move metal pieces through paint, they created swirling, colourful artworks while marvelling at the science behind it. The activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity, proving that learning and wonder often go hand in hand.
The children invented a new game with mini lacrosse. They quickly picked up the basics and loved the excitement of one-on-one play. Their enthusiasm has sparked plans to extend this interest into small team games on the oval, encouraging strategy, teamwork, and active play on a larger scale.
In the garden, many children also enjoyed spending time tending to plants. Whether watering, weeding, or checking on new growth, they showed pride in caring for their environment. Gardening continues to be a calming and rewarding activity that fosters responsibility and connection to nature.
From dancing and painting to inventing new games and nurturing the garden, the past few weeks have been a celebration of imagination, community, and growth. We can’t wait to see what the children explore next!
