Principal's news
Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Welcome back to a challenging start to term in terms of keeping everyone healthy and well. We have much to do this term and have already started. Be sure to keep up with all the going-on at school for there is quite a bit happening.
Report cards
Reports have been finalised and will be emailed home on Monday. Please keep an eye out for them. If yours does not arrive in the bulk mailout, please contact me and we will re-send it directly to you. I say this because some email systems block bulk mailouts and consider them to be spam mail.

Norovirus
In GREAT breaking news on Thursday evening, the Public Health Unit has declared that our OSHC is no longer considered a norovirus outbreak. However, we still have cases at school. Keeping everyone safe and well is our priority so we will:
- Continue to monitor for illness
- Send home any unwell children or students reporting symptoms.
- Contact Public Health if we have any concerns regarding outbreaks.
- Continue to promote good hand hygiene practice after toileting, before eating and after play.
- Continue enhanced cleaning of toilets and high touch surfaces to reduce the risk of transmission of infectious diseases including influenza and gastro.
- Playdoh, soft furnishings and toys will remain away for another week.
- Keep our sand pits closed for play until the end of next week.
Our OSHC will also:
- Continue their hourly sanitise system until at least the end of next week.
- Continue the separated areas for eating until the end of next week.
- Continue heightened monitoring of the hand washing and sanitising on arrival, before and after food until the end of next week.
- Soft furnishings and soft toys will remain away until the end of next week.
- We will keep our sand pits closed until the end of next week.
- Play doh / slime MUST be disposed of and replaced.
Thank you so much for all your efforts in reducing the spread of infection and in providing the data for the daily required reports. Our school and OSHC was not the initial site for the outbreak but the impact on our children and staff has been significant. The outbreak made vacation care a challenge with programs, excursions and plans changing daily. The amount of reporting, team work and family communication required to manage the situation under very testing circumstances does not go unnoticed and our teams worked brilliantly well - it is very much appreciated.
Thank you to the families and staff who helped by complying with the GCPHU requirements.
We are not yet out of the woods - but I can see light.

Thank you to Ms Costello for organising this activity. It is a very valuable one.
Oval seating and playground
The finishing touches to the oval seating project are only days away now, with lights and sound to be added to the facility. The fencing has been removed and students are very much enjoying using the facility already.
Stage 2 is the Ninja Warrior Course for senior students. Following discussion with students, it has been ordered and will be completed as soon as possible. This will complete the zone. Total project cost will be approximately $650 000.

Kind regards and keep well
