Celebrations of Learning

Prep

‘Who’s that trip trapping on my bridge!’ is what we heard all week long in our Prep classrooms. Prep students have been reading and listening to Fairytales this term focusing on retelling the story, sharing what we like about the story and explaining how it makes us feel. This has built on our oral language and developed our abilities to share our ideas with our class. In Prep J we have built bridges and used puppets to retell the story. We have written about, and drew the mean and nasty troll in a directed drawing lesson then painted with watercolours. We also got to paint the Three Billy Goats Gruff trip trap trotting across the bridge. I wonder what Fairytale we will learn about next?

Year 1

1H Let’s Explore Measurement and Procedure

This term 1H have been investigating measurement. We used materials like counters and blocks to measure the length of objects. We also measured the capacity of containers by filling them with cups of beads or marbles. We used our hands and balance scales to measure the weight of objects to decide which object is heavier or lighter.

In English we have been learning about the procedure of doing something. In week 1 we had fun learning how to play Duck, Duck Goose and in weeks 2 and 3 we got to make and eat fairy bread!

Year 2

We love painting, making music, and being creative—it always brings a big smile to our faces! Our Celebration of Learning was filled with colorful artwork, joyful sounds, and lots of imagination. Creativity helps us express ourselves and makes every day more fun!
