Primary schools netball carnival

On Monday the Year 6 Coomera Rivers Crusaders netball team participated in the Gold Coast North Primary Schools Gala day. Up against some strong competition, the girls did themselves and our school proud with their sportsmanship and outstanding efforts in every game. Competing in the championship division, they finished 6th overall, out of 12 teams.

Congratulations Emily, Maioha, Honey, Amelia, Harper, Mila, Gracie, Amania, Livie and Mia!  And thank you Mrs Walsh and Ms Parker for their wonderful coaching.

Sport expectations:

Players are representing our school and must:

  • attend school regularly
  • behaviour appropriately at school
  • wear or take with them the complete uniform (listed above) if they are to do so.  Children who do not attend in full team uniform on sport day will stay at school and we will reimburse travel costs to families after the sports season is finished. If any players need assistance with uniforms (including school hats & jackets), please contact the school 48 hours before the scheduled departure.  We cannot assist after this time.
  • display appropriate behaviour for sport at this level.  School sport is about participation.  Any swearing or aggressive behaviour towards other teams, team mates or officials will automatically result in them being withdrawn from the team for the season.

Parents must:

  • teach their children that school sport is played for fun.  Any family members or friends swearing or aggressive behaviour towards other teams, their players, our players, any coaches or officials will automatically result in their child being withdrawn from the team for the remainder of the year.  There are no exceptions.
  • teach their children about representing something bigger than themselves.  The full team uniform is non-negotiable.

South Coast

Good luck to Nia and Tiaki who are representing South Coast at state trials in Roma this week. We’re lucky to have some really talented touch football players at our school.
