Cook Islands Language Week (August 3-9)

This week we celebrated Cook Islands Language Week, embracing the theme 'Connect me to the offerings of my people'. Students learned about the Cook Islands’ pate (also known as toere), a traditional wooden slit drum, and enjoyed having a go at playing it.

This term, our Pacifikai program is focusing on physical movement. Students explored how different organs of the body help us during physical activity and then put their skills to the test in a fun, team-building game—transporting a ping pong ball through paper tunnels and slides—which challenged their coordination, communication, and teamwork.
