Celebrations of Learning
This week in Maths, Prep S have been using hands-on materials to learn about adding groups, to find out how many ‘altogether’. We have been using our ‘adding machines’ and 10’s frames to represent practical situations that involve quantifying and adding to collections to at least 10.
Prep S loves any opportunity to use hands-on materials in the classroom to learn. Hands-on learning, using physical materials offers numerous benefits for learners of all ages. It enhances understanding, improves retention, and fosters engagement by allowing learners to interact directly with concepts.

Year 1
This week, 1L has taken the spotlight as they proudly presented their procedure speeches to their classmates. Together, we’ve learned how to make adorable yarn turtles, create rainy day masterpieces, wash our hands the right way, and even whip up some delicious fairy bread. Along the way, students shared not just the steps, but their expert opinions on what makes each procedure truly perfect!

Year 2
What a busy last 2 weeks, Year 2’s have been busy starting and finishing assessments before holidays start end of next week. Students have been trying their absolute best, and their perseverance has been phenomenal. Last week we celebrated the dads for Father’s Day. 2C and 2E held an open classroom for all the dads and we had a great turnout. So much laughter, chatter and smiles from each and everyone. Mr. Graham was lucky enough to get a shave from a couple of students, I must say he did look very relaxed.
We also celebrated R U OK day on Thursday 11th September. All students created a hand and placed it on the grass near the office. It was such a great idea.
I hope you all enjoy a well-deserved break ready for another term of great learning. Many Thanks the Year 2 Team!
