Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues

You have shone this week.  Your respect for school restrictions has been visible and this has made the supervision at the gates very pleasant for everyone concerned.  Well done and thank you.  Please remember to show your gate pass when you pass the check points.  

A goal to work on next week:  Please keep working on maintaining social distancing (I will also be focused on this for me too) as it is not a natural thing to do.  Adults need to try to keep 1.5m between themselves and other adults.  

Classroom access is not available to parents and only students and staff are able to access the rooms.  Please do not enter classrooms at any time unless a teacher invites you in.  

Our children have shown wonderful developments in their independence these past few days as they made their way to class without their parents.  And made it they did!  They have been brave and trusting.  

Our teachers and school staff have been incredible in their support for your children, especially those who were feeling a little vulnerable.  They have celebrated their return to school, making the resumption to routine easier and happier.

We have 1170 students at our school and most have returned.  

Early departures are a dream

The early departure process has been an absolute dream since it started on Thursday afternoon.  It has taken us 4 minutes from students arriving at the gate to everyone being collected.  Thank you to everyone who has done the right thing in using the Kiss n Go and especially the 2:30pm collection parents for staying out of the area.

In comparison, the 2:30pm departure group took 30 minutes today - a really noticeable difference.  

Want to join the early group?

If you would like to enjoy the ease of the earlier pick up time, please email Mrs Jenkins. (Please give us 24 hours notice for this).  At the moment the early group needs to be collected at 2:00pm every day.  We believe that from next week, we will also be able to now accommodate families who want early collection on particular days (not every day) so long as the routine is consistent every week.  

Hygiene practices at school

Our hygiene standards are extremely good at school.  Hand washing routines are very strong and consistent, our day cleaner, Lorraine, is keeping our toilet blocks clean and well stocked.  Playgrounds and equipment are cleaned as per the requirements.

We use hand sanitiser across the school as a back up for soap and water.  It is very convenient, especially for younger students.  If your child has any reactions to using the sanitiser, please email Mrs McMurtrie.  It is unlikely but I am told that a very small percentage of people might be allergic to some of its ingredients.

Classes said thank you to our P&C executive this week for all of the wonderful work they do for the students, school and community.  Well done ladies.  You very much deserve this acknowledgement.

P&C recognition day was actually last Friday 22 may but of course, schools were not fully operational and our executive were looking after work and home learning programs.  So this week...
