Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
The end of last week was enormous and as a result, the distribution of the school newsletter was deferred for the weekend. I encourage you to read on for information about the week's events and the galleries of photos that accompany the reports. Also included later in this issue is information on 2023 booklists, SRS and App lists.

This was an incredible day. Messy and fun! It was the culmination of weeks of work and it was incredibly successful. My appreciation for this opportunity extends to so many people - all of whom contributed in a way to make the experience better for our children. Our staff, many of whom arrived at 3:30am, cooked, served and were happy to get messy with their students across the day. Our families supported the event with their considerable financial generosity once again, and came along to watch as Channel 9 broadcast from the school. And of course, our P&C ladies. Their commitment across the past 5 months has been extraordinary and I was delighted that the event ran so well for them. Well done!

Time 2 Shine concert
Congratulations to the students and staff who presented at the Time 2 Shine concert this week. I was incredibly proud of each of the performers and just as grateful to the staff for the outstanding work they have done this year. Thank you to all of the families who have supported our music program this year.

School number facts competition
A few nerves were revealed at this Thursday’s school wide Mathletics Live & Number Facts competition finals. Thank you to all students who participated on the day. The challenge was fierce as the top 25 students in each year level battled it out to become the top 4-point scorers. They then battled in the grand final round to become the number facts year level champion. Congratulations to the top 4 point-scorers from each year level and the overall year level champions:

We are going on a sound hunt!
Some dedicated phonics detectives went on a sound hunt with Ms Costello looking for some 'special friends' (sounds written with two letters) in environmental print around the school. Super sleuthing year 1s!

2023 - Book lists (stationery)
Please use the lists below to organise NEXT year's stationery supplies. There is no preferred supplier so shop around to find the best price / convenience suppliers.
Religious instruction: If your child is participating in Religious Instruction next year, you will need to arrange their work books. These workbooks are always very hard to source, so to make things easier, our P&C has pre-purchased them and is re-selling them to families without any mark up. Please order your workbooks through Flexischools.

The Student Resource Scheme (SRS) is the school's system to bulk buy the items that we are allowed, and then re-sell them to families without mark-up. It includes consumables and on-line subscriptions to web based programs (like textbooks). The savings to families are enormous, so please consider your involvement. If you were involved in an SRS in 2022, you will automatically remain in the scheme until you unsubscribe. If you choose to not be involved, we understand that you will privately provide the materials listed.

Apps lists for 2023
iPad requirements for parents
Fact sheet for parents
As we near the end of the 2022 school year, it is time to start considering your Before and After school care needs for 2023.
All current 2022 BSC and ASC bookings will cease after close of business Friday 9 December 2022. Bookings will not roll over to 2023.
Existing OSHC families must complete the re-enrolment process as advertised on OWNA.
Families looking to enrol for the first time in 2023 please send your enquiry to the service email address crssoshc@outlook.com. Once we have received your enrolment enquiry, we will send through our ‘Enrolment Information’ document with a link to our enrolment form.
Places are limited and families looking for care in 2023 are encouraged to book their places as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The School Locker
The advertised price increase to uniform items by the provider, The School Locker, is about to occur. Since being notified of the rise, the P&C has been very active in its negotiations with the company to limit the increases. And while there is still an increase, the final amounts are lower since the negotiation. The table below explains the OLD price, the expected price, and the new re-negotiated price. Thank you to the P&C for doing this for our community.
As part of the negotiation, we decided that we would only open the on-site shop for two days each week during Term time. The closure of the shop on the third day was turned into price reductions. The School Locker will still offer extended on-site shop trading in the lead up to the 2023 return to school. The details of the trading dates and times during return to school will be provided as soon as to hand. During Term time we believe we can manage with two days on-site shop trade as most of the sales are completed online. We encourage families to continue to order online and utilise classroom delivery of orders wherever possible.

of the P&C Association
The next general meeting of the P&C Association will be held on Tuesday 18 February at 7:00pm, via TEAMS.
Please email the P&C at pandc@coomerariversss.eq.edu.au for a TEAMS link.
P&C meetings are a great way to keep up to date with what is going on around our school. The meetings also provide our families with an opportunity to have input and feedback on matters relating to school and community life. Meetings are open to all families and we encourage families to attend our on-line meeting and contribute to your school community which forms a vital part of your children's educational journey.
We look forward to seeing you on-line at our next meeting.
