Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
It has been another really busy week at school and next week is looking even bigger. Make sure you check the calendar above to see the events that are coming.
Dress up day
Every year I am astounded at the ingenuity of mums and dads with our Book Week costumes. This year is no different. The children were very excited to show off their costumes this morning.
We will give a very full wrap up and photo gallery in the next issue of the newsletter but here is just a taste of some of the costumes.

Protective behaviours and healthy relationships
Our school believes that teaching children about protective behaviours and healthy relationships are an important aspect of growing up to be Good at Life. This is part of the Australian Curriculum so permission to proceed is understood. However, we understand that families should have a say as well. If you would like to OPT OUT, please return the bottom section of your child's note, to your child's teacher by 2:30pm on Friday 27 October. We will begin these programs from Monday 30 October.
You will receive a letter from the teacher, similar to the one shown below. Each sector of the school is slightly different so please check your letter carefully.

Free dress day (Red day)
Book Fair opens (Monday - Friday)
Please support our school book fair next week. It is open each day (we close at morning tea on Friday) in the iCentre. There is a very wide selection of books and stationery from which to select.
Purchases can be paid for by card or cash at the book fair or on-line.
If paying on-line – Parents pay the purchase amount for the items they want. The receipt number must be taken to Ms Katie at the Book Fair so items can be ordered on-line. Items cannot be ordered on-line – only via the fair itself.
If paying by cash – We encourage parents to come into the Book Fair with their children. Only send money to school with children if they are responsible with it.
Staff appreciation day (Friday 27 October)
Ours is a superb school staff who give so much of themselves to our children and community each and every day. I would love for families to show their appreciation next Friday by sending a quick note or even a small gift to say thank you to any staff (teachers, assistant teachers, office staff, and school facilities staff) who make a difference for your children.
Spooky Disco
Disco ticket sales close Wednesday 25 October at 4:00pm SHARP. Don't miss out.
Have a lovely weekend

of the P&C Association
The next general meeting of the P&C Association will be held on Tuesday 18 February at 7:00pm, via TEAMS.
Please email the P&C at pandc@coomerariversss.eq.edu.au for a TEAMS link.
P&C meetings are a great way to keep up to date with what is going on around our school. The meetings also provide our families with an opportunity to have input and feedback on matters relating to school and community life. Meetings are open to all families and we encourage families to attend our on-line meeting and contribute to your school community which forms a vital part of your children's educational journey.
We look forward to seeing you on-line at our next meeting.

2024 Year 6 senior shirt opportunity
It is with great excitement that we open the orders for our 2024 seniors shirts.
Our Year 5 students have been involved in a design development process that culminated in six designs being presented to the cohort. Every Year 5 student was then able to vote on their favourite with the design with the most votes becoming our 2024 senior shirt design.
An image of the finalised design for 2024 can be found below.
Important information - What you need to know.
- Orders are open to our current Year 5 (Class of 2024) students only
- Orders are open now via School24 and will close at 4pm Friday 17 November
- The cost of the shirt is $35
- REALLY IMPORTANT! When determining sizing, please refer to the size charts available below (and on the School24 site) or you can email the P&C to book a time to try on sample sizes. Please ensure that you check and order the correct sizes as there is no exchange of sizes available once your order has been placed.
- Families that would like to purchase but, for any reason, are not able to make full payment before the deadline date, can email the P&C to request a payment plan. Please note - to be eligible for a payment plan your school credit rating must be in good standing - meaning you have no outstanding payments to school or, if you currently are on a school payment plan, your payments are up to date.
- The school requires that a minimum of 100 student orders are received for the senior shirt to proceed. If orders do not reach this target, we will process refunds and not proceed with the order for this year.
- The 2024 Senior shirt can be worn on sports days at school.
- Students will still need to have a standard "green" shirt as these must be worn when representing our school off site requires full sport uniform.
- 2024 Senior Shirts will be handed out in Term 1 Week 4 of 2024 after confirmation that students have the full correct "blues" and "greens" uniform.
- The seniors shirt is not able to be signed at school at the end of the year as a memento
If you have any questions, please email the P&C
