Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Following what was a very humid day, I very much enjoyed seeing the full moon as I drove home tonight - it was quite breathtaking and has been for millennia. 'It is a beautiful and delightful sight to behold the body of the moon'. (Galileo). Amazingly, scientists suggest that the moon arrived to orbit Earth around 4.5 billion years ago. Space is truly magnificent.
The next five weeks are just packed full of activities and opportunities so please check the school calendar regularly.

Celebrating Prep
Our prep students have lenjoyed visiting the library and getting to know the routines of borrowing and interacting with our ever friendly Ms Katie. Students are becoming more confident accessing their online learning in class and have been able to practise their sound and number recognition in a multitude of ways.

Celebrating Year 1
Year one students have been practising their measuring skills both in and out of the classroom, with some classes looking at objects in the playground and utilising their senior buddies to help measure items iand themselves! In writing they have begun to learn how to write a recount - where they recall an event. Skills they will put to use in capturing their experience the upcoming Jacobs Well Environmental Excursion.

Celebrating Year 2
Year 2 has been very busy over the last two weeks. We have been settling into classroom routines and becoming more aware of the classroom expectations. We were lucky enough to make fairy bread this week. Students showed they could listen carefully to follow instructions and were eager to write their own recounts about the procedure. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ inspired our recount in week 4 and the students enjoyed their bear hunt craft to go along with their writing. In Math we have been busy engaging in hands on experiences while learning to measure Length and Mass using informal units. Small group work has enabled students to practise their skills in effectively working in a team and what it entails to be Cog. HASS lessons have been a favourite for year 2 while they explored the concepts of school and technology in the past. Learning about the Dunce Hat was a big hit! Science lessons have had us exploring a mystery bag of objects and investigating the materials and properties of various objects. Lots of busy learning has kept us on our toes!

Student Leadership - Rule Rangers
During this week's assembly, the Rule Rangers, Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be a Learner, were introduced to junior students. They were also actively involved in recognising positive behavior by distributing Rivers Rewards to students demonstrating attentive, whole-body listening.
The Rule Rangers and school leaders will collaborate for assembly each week, showcasing the school's ethos of Good at Learning, Good at Life through captivating drama skits to teach the behaviour standards expected at our school. Additionally, students can anticipate seeing our leaders in the playground, as they keenly observe and acknowledge above the line behaviours.

Servicing your bike will help keep it in pristine condition to maintain performance and ensure that you’re riding a bike that is safe. Often people have invested a lot of money in their bike and don’t worry much about servicing, but just like your car you need to service your bike regularly. Servicing your bike will increase the life of your parts and give you a much better riding experience.
99 Bikes, proud sponsors of our Term 1 River Reward program, have not only been kind enough to donate a bike that one lucky Year 4 – 6 students will win this Term, they have also put together an exclusive package of offers for our families to help with the safety and servicing of your bikes.
Please see the attached flyer for full details.
We thank 99 Bikes for the support of our school and community.
