Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
The weather caused some issues with inter-school sport this week where the council fields were closed, meaning sport was cancelled. We hope the showers will subside so next week's matches can go ahead on Thursday.
Good luck to our school bands and ensembles when they participate at Fanfare this week. They have been practising hard.
Important Update: Story time Schedule Change
We are excited to announce a new time for our Story time sessions!
To better accommodate our busy families, Story time will now take place every morning from 7:45am to 8:15am in the school library. This change allows us to provide an even more convenient time for you and your children to enjoy the magic of books together.
We encourage you to come along and continuing to foster a love for reading in our school community.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Happy Reading!
Bikes and scooters at school
Please ensure that your children are safe and capable to ride a bike or 'manual' scooter to school. They need to:
- Wear a helmet for their own safety.
- Know road rules.
- Keep off the roads.
- Lock their bikes onto the racks.
Electric scooters
- Children under 16 are precluded by law to use an electric scooter. This means that electric scooters for our students are not allowed at school.
Supervision
- Please know that our staff are not rostered onto supervision of the bike racks each morning or afternoon.
Please be respectful at school
Our staff is committed to helping you and work hard each day to make our school a great place. Please speak respectfully to staff and assist them with requests.
Kind regards
Vic
Congratulations to these students who continue to shine:

Environmental leaders enjoy Tangalooma
Last Friday our school environmental leaders, Archer, Harper and Bailey attended the annual Eco-Marine Workshop at Tangalooma. Their day began with a ferry over to the island with the other EcoMarine’s from Brisbane and Gold Coast schools. Once on the island they were put to the test by competing in a sand castle competition where they collaborated with another school to build an Australian endangered animal. Our students were challenged with creating a Green Sea Turtle and did an exceptional job, winning the competition.
The leaders then engaged in a range of workshops focusing on different environmental issues such as food waste, water conservation, plastics and the overproduction and wastage of clothing. Our environmental leaders began their action plan on environmental endeavours they would like to tackle this year at Coomera Rivers. Then we ended the day with the excitement of feeding the dolphins.
Overall, it was a long fun-filled day filled with learnings and inspiration to continue our environmental initiatives at school to make the planet a better place. Thank you to Miss Landers for taking our leaders to away for the day.
