Story time before school
Cafe changes
Our P&C is taking over the operation of the school cafe from the start of next term. Positions have been advertised so please contact the P&C if you are interested in making an application.
Winter uniforms
Please organise your child's winter uniforms as soon as possible. Students need the pullover with the formal uniform and the tracksuit top with the sports uniform. If it is a particularly cool day, please layer up under the uniform.
All of our classrooms are air conditioned and are very pleasant working spaces where students won't usually need a jumper.
Letters for medical specialists
From time to time, parents request a report regarding their child's progress from the school. This report is used to support a medical assessment of some nature. While we are more than happy to assist, we need a minimum of three weeks to prepare these reports. These are very substantial tasks based on hours of observation and school assessments.
Have a lovely weekend
Kind regards
Vic
Congratulations to each of these stduents from the senior school.

Celebrating Year 3
3L has been incredibly busy completing our many Math's Assessment (in Number looking at basic multiplication called arrays, mental math's, 3D shapes and Time, besides Numbers to 10 000.)
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed our Time Assessment. We first had to estimate how long it would take to make a paper airplane and then take a photo of the class clock. We then made our planes and took a second photo of the analogue clock. Then the hard part, counting the minutes from the first clock to the second.
We also enjoyed learning amazing facts about Koalas. Did you know they have a backward facing pouch, two thumbs on their fore hands and a long nail for grooming on their hind feet.

Celebrating Year 4
The past few weeks in Year 4 have been incredibly busy, filled with the exploration of noteworthy individuals for our informative writing assessment. Throughout the term, we delved into researching a diverse array of people, uncovering fascinating facts and insights along the way. Collaboratively, we crafted informative texts, honing our skills in creating sizzling starts, compelling topic sentences, and impactful endings. From figures like Steve Irwin to Taylor Swift and Malala Yousafzai, both teachers and students alike have absorbed a wealth of knowledge.
Did you know that Taylor Swift holds an astonishing 58 Guinness World Records, or that Malala Yousafzai is the youngest-ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize?
I encourage you to inquire about the individuals your children chose to write about and have them share the intriguing information they've acquired. It's remarkable to witness their enthusiasm for learning and the depth of understanding they've gained.

Celebrating Year 5
Year 5 students have continued learning all things about the Goldrush and recently designed and produced their very own lapbook to demonstrate their learning.

Celebrating Year 6
6F students worked hard to solve some difficult Maths problems recently, why not test your Maths knowledge with a question they had to solve:
Eli has 60 litres of petrol in his car. Each day he uses 1.5 litres. How long will his car run before he needs to refuel?

Last Saturday was a truly memorable day for our young competitors. I was very impressed with the courage and perseverance shown as the course was tough - very tough.
This year, the number of schools and competitors was far greater than that of 2023. This year saw 311 teams (most from high school) compete in the 18km event. The course was also longer than the expected 18km. My watch clocked just over 20km as I forgot to start it until we were 2km into the event.
I was relieved that the rain held off for the event. This made the track much safer. There was no surface water on the course but the greasy downhill slopes were a worry at times.
This event took us six months to prepare for. Training started in early Term 1 and we trained as a squad every fortnight or so, then trained at Park Run on the other weeks. Training was not just for students - I needed every metre travelled to prepare as well.

Team results
Crusaders 1: 11th place of 311 teams
Crusaders 2: 15th
Crusaders 3: 98th
Crusaders 4: 99th
In appreciation
Thank you to:
- Our young runners for training hard all season, the representing our school yesterday with pride and distinction. Well done to each of you.
- All of the mums and dads who brought their children to early morning training sessions and the off-week park run events. This was just what we needed to build our fitness levels for the event. You also waited patiently while we took part. It was certainly a long day for you.
- All our coaches who supported the training across the semester. I am truly grateful for your support and commitment.
- Our race teachers, Cindy, Laura and Connor. You were amazing and led your teams safely through the arduous and very busy course.
