Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues

It has been a big week at school where the first of our students were recognised with their diamond level awards.  This is an outstanding achievement and we recognise students who have continually demonstrated the highest levels of integrity and character.  Congratulations to those recognised this week.  

Congratulations also to our school band who competed at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod this week.  They earned a SILVER award.  Well done!

Parent-teacher interviews are being held this coming Monday afternoon.  Each of the bookings are 10 minutes in duration and are condensed snapshots of your child's progress so far this year. To make the most of the interview, please arrive early and prepare any questions or points that you would like to discuss with the teacher.

Bullying no way - National week of action

We had a fantastic free dress day today as we recognised the National week of action against bullying.  We were dressed in our best purple shirts and accessories and enjoyed a day of gratitude and kindness with our friends.  

Raffle winner

Congratulations to Riley (Prep M) on winning the special behaviour rewards raffle this week.  She won four 3-day PREMIUM passes to the Pacific Air Show this weekend.  This prize is valued at $1200.  We drew her ticket from the thousands of tickets in the basket.

Chinese speaking competition

Good luck to our representatives at the Griffith University Languages Competition this weekend.  The girls had their final rehearsals today and are ready to do very well on Sunday.  Thank you to Mrs Huang for leading the competition again this year.

Musical tickets on sale now

Come and watch our students shine on stage in The Jungle Book musical.  It has been such a collaborative effort from our Coomera Rivers community involving everyone from teachers, P&C, students, parents, past students, prac teachers, ATs, our IT staff, groundsmen and helpful strangers (thank you FaceBook Marketplace). Let’s keep the community spirit going as our kids would LOVE to see many of you there!

If you know that your family is leaving the school at the end of this year, can you please let Mrs Finch know, either by email or phone 55968333.  This way we can create classes on as accurate a number as possible.

I will be on special leave for the next couple of weeks.  Mrs Gatti and Ms Waide will be leading the school in my absence.

in some extra-curricular opportunities at school

Coomera Rivers is committed to offering our students as many additional opportunities as we can.  Below is a list of the activities on offer this term.  Some are privately provided opportunities held at school but most are run by our school staff.  Most activities are free or very reasonably priced.  Please contact the co-ordinator for more information if you are interested in your child participating.

As you will see, the older the students are, the greater the number of opportunities that exist for them.  This is due to department regulations around competitive sport and other aspects of school.

Thank you sincerely to the staff teams who provide their time and expertise for the students.  I am very grateful for their generous contributions.
