Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
A wet week saw some restrictions at play time but at least we made it outside most days. It was only the persistent rain on Friday that saw us implement wet lunch protocols. Our super teachers have just about completed student assessments and reports and these will be sent home via email towards the end of the school year.
And with just 15 school days remaining for the 2024 school year, things are beginning to become very busy indeed. Please make sure that you keep up by checking in with teachers and newsletters so that you don't miss anything.
Lost property give-away
On Monday 2 December and Tuesday 3 December there will be tables at the back entrance to the office with 2nd hand / lost uniforms (where we have been unable to identify an owner). We would like these items to go to a good home.
Rules:
- These items are free.
- All items are of a reasonable quality - what you see is what you get.
- These items are not intended for resale but are intended to legitimately help our families.
- There will be a limit of 1 item per type of uniform – eg 1 x shirt, 1 x pair shorts etc per student.
- Not all items are available in all sizes.
- Items are available on a first in basis.
- They will be available all day from 8.00am – 3.00pm or until collected.
- We cannot hold uniform items.

Celebrations of Learning
Year 3
Most of this week was catching up on completing assessments but, also finished reading our exciting chapter book called Wylah. A group of students were being creative with some objects found at breaktime. Mrs La Porta was lucky to receive a kindness card and another group of students worked together to complete the puzzle. We are looking forward to performing at the Christmas concert and have been practising our Christmas song with 3S.

Year 4
A Journey through stories
Over the past few weeks, 4E has been buzzing with excitement as we wrapped up our learning for the term. The highlight has undoubtedly been finishing the last chapter of Rowan of Rin. The thrilling conclusion kept us on the edge of our seats, and we encourage you to ask your child for their summary of this incredible book. To celebrate the journey, we tapped into our imaginations one final time, creating visual representations of Chapter 13 that captured the essence of Rowan’s adventure.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to bring the story to life in a new way as we create Rowan of Rin a story through pictures, next week. We can’t wait to share these creative interpretations with our family, friends, and classmates.
In addition to our Rowan of Rin adventures, we’ve been busy crafting and publishing original stories in pairs. The enthusiasm and creativity flowing in the classroom have been inspiring, and we’re excited to showcase these works soon. It’s been a fantastic few weeks of learning, creating, and celebrating our successes!

Year 5 Tradeshow
Congratulations to our Year 5 students who proudly showcased their Global Goals projects recently, related to the Inquiry Question: How can we use our understanding of the Global Goals to improve our community?

Year 6
In Science this term, Year 6 students investigated the following essential question: How does the physical conditions of a particular environment affect the growth and survival of living things?
Students needed to plan, conduct and evaluate an investigation to identify the best environment to store bread and minimise mould growth.
We encourage you to ask your child all about it and view their findings in SeeSaw.

GEM (Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness)
With one week of the school year to go, you still have time to enrol for Prep 2025. If you would like further information please contact our Enrolments Officer Kylie Finch.
of the P&C Association
The next general meeting of the P&C Association will be held on Tuesday 18 February at 7:00pm, via TEAMS.
Please email the P&C at pandc@coomerariversss.eq.edu.au for a TEAMS link.
P&C meetings are a great way to keep up to date with what is going on around our school. The meetings also provide our families with an opportunity to have input and feedback on matters relating to school and community life. Meetings are open to all families and we encourage families to attend our on-line meeting and contribute to your school community which forms a vital part of your children's educational journey.
We look forward to seeing you on-line at our next meeting.
Well done to all students who packed a Waste Free Lunch Box every week for Waste Free Wednesday this term. The winner of our major prize - a sustainable lunch box pack - is Olivia from 3J. Congratulations Olivia!
