Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Congratulations on a very successful 10 days of home programs. Many of our young learners are in effective routines and are impressing their teachers.
We have sent home two notifications across the past two weeks regarding coronavirus testing. Both tests have returned with negative results. The new testing requirements surrounding schools will result in more tests being conducted as a precaution. I will inform our community each time.
Home program tips (Important job)
We are about to move into Week 3 of our home programs and the iTunes U program will need to be refreshed. It is really easy to do. Simply close and open the app again. This will refresh the program and the new content for Weeks 3&4 will be activated. Please contact your child's teacher if you need a hand.
Feedback
Teachers have been very hard at work providing feedback to students on their submitted pieces of work. The requirements for teachers are to ensure that they provide two pieces of feedback to children each week. But teachers are providing a lot more than this. Teachers are sending written comments and some are now utilising verbal comments as well. Please read the feedback with your children and use it for further development.
Parent survey
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback via the parent survey last week. The results have been collated and we will share the information next week.
ANZAC Day commemorations
The community spirit shown with commemorating ANZAC Day last Saturday was incredible. The photos sent to us were sensational. I get the feeling that 'lighting up the dawn' might just become a new Australian tradition - if the success of this year is anything to go by. Click here to see our Facebook montage .
Family dance challenge video
The family dance challenge video is currently being pieced together and I must say from the previews that I have seen, it is just amazing. The talent and fun on display is so heart-warming. We will post the video to Facebook across the weekend when it is ready. It really will be very good!
Next week's challenge:
- We want to see the littlest members of the family this week.
- Email a photo of your child and pet hard at learning.
- Make it cute, creative or funny.
- Send your photo to weeklychallenge@coomerariversss.eq.edu.au
Please remember that:
- We select content at random (when necessary).
- Submitting the photo is considered implied authority for it to be shown on the school Facebook page in the montage next weekend.
Long weekend
Please remember that this Monday is a public holiday. School programs resume on Tuesday. I strongly encourage everyone to enjoy a long weekend away from screens and learning programs.
Mother's Day is coming
We won't be conducting our annual Mothers Day stall this year. So dads - this means that there are 8 days left to make those shopping plans!
Kind regards
Vic
This week our educators have had the pleasure of watching the friendships between us blossom and grow. We get to have afternoon tea together while social distancing of course, play in teams with friends younger and older than us and learn new things from each other. One of our favourite things to do together lately is play group games and challenge our competitive streaks. Rob the nest and Dodgeball are a hoot and have definitely been our go to for team fun. We get to work with lots of different people and use our motor skills to throw, grab and catch to win the game.
This week we have loved finding natural materials around our school to make unique artwork to decorate the OSHC room. We collected leaves, bark and sticks off the ground to create many things. Some of us made a one of a kind leaf mobile to display in the OSHC room and some of us made our own collages. We are loving our extra time together with our new friends and our educators. We hope our families are thriving from it too!

Our on campus store at Coomera Rivers will remain closed during the current COVID19 restrictions. We understand that families may still need to purchase uniforms during this time and the below sets out the alternative arrangements The School Locker will be able to provide.
How can I order?
Orders can only be placed online. You can place your order online by clicking here.
When can I collect my order?
All orders will be available for collection between the hours of 7:45am to 10:30am every Friday.
Please consider this once a week collection window when ordering. We encourage families to order ahead of time to ensure they have their uniform items at least a week before you need them to allow for this reduced service capability.
How can I exchange if I order the wrong size?
When collecting your online orders between the hours of 7:45am to 10:30am every Friday, we encourage you to try on any items that you are unsure of size wise and arrange an immediate exchange if need be.
Otherwise, your next opportunity to arrange an exchange, will be the following Friday during the above advertised hours.
If you have any questions in relation to your The School Locker orders, please email The School Locker Area manager, Zoey White .
