Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Another fantastic week of work, learning, surprises and highlights. Thank you sincerely to everyone who has contributed to the success of the past five days at school.
Highlights

What are your plans for
Now is the time to ensure that your enrolments or departures for the 2025 school year are completed. We only have around 15 positions left in Prep classes, since the removal of the extra classrooms.
If your family is leaving us at the end of this year, please contact Kylie Finch as soon as possible. This will help us enormously with 2025 class lists and class plans.
Election BBQ
Thank you to our P&C and volunteers for operating the election day BBQ last Saturday. It was great to see many of our families and community friends coming in to vote and buy a snag.

Traffic in and around the school
I have been receiving many complaint emails across the past fortnight regarding traffic and motorists around the school. What happens on our roads is not anything I can influence but I do need to point out the safety concerns I have for our children. Their safety is more important than traffic. To those motorists who need this message - please slow down, be patient, be courteous and be safe with your car. Our children rely on you to do this.
All school's touch football carnival
Best wishes to our three teams who are competing at the Queensland All Schools carnival this weekend. The first round of matches was held today. I was not at all surprised that a storm stopped play. This seems to be an annual thing. Last year's deluge saw us almost ankle deep in storm water and many hours delayed. The kids loved the floods though.
Week 11
Most school terms are 10 weeks long but this term has 11 weeks. This is not new and happens every 5-6 years.
- Week 11 is a school week.
- Students come to school in correct uniform each day.
- The school day and bell times remain the same, right up to the end of the year.
- Swimming carnivals and the Year 6 Graduation and Excursion are the only events planned in the week.
- All of the teaching and learning has already been completed and report cards have been finalised. These will be emailed in Week 11.
- Please notify the office if your children are away from school so we can maintain accurate rolls.
- We have 25 school days left.
- And 54 days until Christmas.
2024 Christmas Concert
Our Christmas Concert is back. Make sure that you leave the evening of Friday 6 December free so you can come along to school to see the performances. These are always great events.
Resource scheme invoices for 2025
As a school we have some serious purchasing power - especially when we purchase resources for students in bulk. We pass these FULL SAVINGS onto our families as part of the student resource scheme. The invoices for the 2025 scheme will be sent home soon. These were discussed at P&C meeting recently. Most year levels come to less than $90 or $2.25 per week. Information about the scheme for 2025 will be sent home in the coming week.
Please contact Mrs Day at school for more information, to opt out of the scheme or discuss payment plans.
Have a great weekend
Vic

Celebrations of Learning
Prep
Prep F and Prep C have been busy learning how to add small collections together using a range strategies including – addition machines, blocks and some themed activity sheets. The most fun was had with the addition machines as they used large tweezers to pick up two different coloured pom poms to make the collections. They also enjoyed using a matching-coloured marker to write down their number sentences.
We have also practised working backwards with subtraction and used our cubes and number sentence cards to work out the remaining amount when some are removed from a total.
We also started learning about sharing equally and practised our cutting skills to top pizzas with equal amounts of toppings. Pepperoni, mushroom and olives…Yum!
We have continued to work on writing what we like or dislike about fairytales and have been encouraging students to Sparkle it Up!!!!!

Year 1
Over the next few weeks, 1/2B we will be focusing our math learning on Australian money, addition and subtraction word problems, division and time. We have enjoyed creating a little shop/Cafe in the classroom where students can role play different roles to practise their math skills as they order items, add up amounts and give change with hands on money. This also incorporates literacy to read the menu, prices and write orders in the notebook.
I have loved watching students collaborate, communicate respectfully and play while they learn in this new area!

Year 2
It’s been a busy week for 2H. This week Mrs Walsh came to visit us to help us make our Bump it up wall for our classroom. She taught us to look for Tickled Pink, things that we are doing well and Green for Growth, things that we could improve. We had a VIP writer who wrote a persuasive letter to his parents. We looked for tickled pink and green for growth in his letter. The class gave feedback to our writer on how to ‘bump it up’. We have also been learning about money and time and reading every day.

With one week of the school year to go, you still have time to enrol for Prep 2025. If you would like further information please contact our Enrolments Officer Kylie Finch.
Well done to all students who packed a Waste Free Lunch Box every week for Waste Free Wednesday this term. The winner of our major prize - a sustainable lunch box pack - is Olivia from 3J. Congratulations Olivia!

2025 Year 6 senior shirt opportunity
It is with great excitement that we open the orders for our 2025 seniors shirts.
Our Year 5 students have recently been involved in a design development process that culminated in four designs being presented to the cohort. Every Year 5 student was then able to vote on their favourite with the design with the most votes becoming our 2025 senior shirt design.
We are really excited to release an image of the winning design below.
Orders are open now so as to give families as much time as possible to check their sizes (you will read below why this is REALLY important) and place their order.
Important information - What you need to know.
- Orders are open to our current Year 5 (Class of 2025) students only
- Orders are open now via School24 and will close at 4:00pm Friday 15 November
- The cost of the shirt is $35
REALLY IMPORTANT INFO:
- When determining sizing, please refer to the size charts available below (and on the School24 site) or you can email the P&C to book a time to try on sample sizes. Please ensure that you check and order the correct sizes as there is no exchange of sizes available once your order has been placed.
- Families that would like to purchase but, for any reason, are not able to make full payment before the deadline date, can email the P&C to request a payment plan. Please note - to be eligible for a payment plan your school credit rating must be in good standing - meaning you have no outstanding payments to school or, if you currently are on a school payment plan, your payments are up to date.
- The school requires that a minimum of 100 student orders are received for the senior shirt to proceed. If orders do not reach this target, we will process refunds and not proceed with the order for 2025.
- The 2025 Senior shirt can be worn on sports days at school.
Students will still need to have a standard "green" shirt as these must be worn when representing our school off site requires full sport uniform. - 2025 Senior Shirts will be handed out in Term 1 Week 4 of 2025 after confirmation that students have the full correct "blues" and "greens" uniform - including black formal shoes and black sport shoes. (REALLY IMPORTANT - Refer to the conditions of purchase when ordering)
- The seniors shirt is not able to be signed at school at the end of the year as a memento
If you have any questions, please email the P&C
