We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we walk, live and learn, the Bullongin & Kombumerri people. We pay our deepest respects to Elders resting in the Dreamtime and to the Elders of today, who will continue to care, protect and nurture the Country that we gather on to learn and connect. We feel both privileged, and grateful to now be sharing and caring for the country on which we are living and learning.
Events, dates and times may change. Please check the school calendar regularly to keep updated.

Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Week 1 of school has just finished and I hope that your children are settling into classroom routines quickly. I am sure that the Prep and Year 1 students might be sleeping better as the days are long and quite demanding of them.
Our school is quickly getting into stride and we eagerly await our Day 8 count. All public schools in Queensland are staffed according to enrolments on this day. Once we have our final numbers, we will usually complete a restructure to balance class numbers. My team has begun to develop some options based on our projected numbers and if there are changes, we will inform families before anything is implemented. Our goal every year is to keep cahnges and disruption to a minimum. I will include more about this in the next newsletter issue.

About the school newsletter
The school newsletter will be emailed home each Friday evening to those who have subscribed to it. Each issue is numbered to the school week of the year (1 through to 40). We will update the calendar in the newsletter each week as things change regularly for us. Please check the calendar for events or changes. The department calendar is also shown so families can see holiday periods as well.
We will be celebrating students and learning in a section of the newsletter. This will be done either by grade level or sector (Prep - Year 2 for example) so that you can navigate the section better. We will be including a lot of photos of award winners and great things for the week.
Coming events will be advertised in more detail. These entries will run across a number of issues to ensure that everyone gets the information.
There is a large P&C section that pertains to cafe, OSHC, volunteers, meetings and more.
I hope that you find the newsletter useful for your family organisation.
Goals for 2025
Hats
All students and staff need to wear a hat when we are outside. Please make sure that your children have the correct school hat (Only Prep students wear the lime green hat). Please add your child's name on their hat.
School facilities maintenance & developments
We are expecting more facilities developments across this term. You are sure to be impressed when you visit the school hall with feature walls being created. A cold water fountain for students has also been installed. A few more of our gardens have seen a refurbishment, the oval and many of the lawns have been fertilised.
Beginning in a couple of weeks will be the oval seating project. This will see the western side of the oval turned into a usable space. We are also anticipating more adventure playgrounds being built as well.
These projects are the result of the best P&C Association in the world.
Have a lovely weekend
