We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we walk, live and learn, the Bullongin & Kombumerri people. We pay our deepest respects to Elders resting in the Dreamtime and to the Elders of today, who will continue to care, protect and nurture the Country that we gather on to learn and connect. We feel both privileged, and grateful to now be sharing and caring for the country on which we are living and learning.

Dear mums, dads, carers and colleagues
Welcome back to a challenging start to term in terms of keeping everyone healthy and well. We have much to do this term and have already started. Be sure to keep up with all the going-on at school for there is quite a bit happening.
Report cards
Reports have been finalised and will be emailed home on Monday. Please keep an eye out for them. If yours does not arrive in the bulk mailout, please contact me and we will re-send it directly to you. I say this because some email systems block bulk mailouts and consider them to be spam mail.
Book your parent-teacher interviews
Parent-teacher interview bookings are open for families to lock in a meeting with their child's teacher.
Interview date: Monday 28 July
Venue: School hall
How to book:
- Go to: https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/
- Use EVENT CODE: rbeuc
- Then: Follow the prompts to register toy preferred times.
The interview bookings will close on Wednesday 23 July at 7:00pm.
Please contact your child's teacher if no booking times remain available to you. This will allow alternate arrangements to be made for you.
Norovirus
In GREAT breaking news on Thursday evening, the Public Health Unit has declared that our OSHC is no longer considered a norovirus outbreak. However, we still have cases at school. Keeping everyone safe and well is our priority so we will:
- Continue to monitor for illness
- Send home any unwell children or students reporting symptoms.
- Contact Public Health if we have any concerns regarding outbreaks.
- Continue to promote good hand hygiene practice after toileting, before eating and after play.
- Continue enhanced cleaning of toilets and high touch surfaces to reduce the risk of transmission of infectious diseases including influenza and gastro.
- Playdoh, soft furnishings and toys will remain away for another week.
- Keep our sand pits closed for play until the end of next week.
Our OSHC will also:
- Continue their hourly sanitise system until at least the end of next week.
- Continue the separated areas for eating until the end of next week.
- Continue heightened monitoring of the hand washing and sanitising on arrival, before and after food until the end of next week.
- Soft furnishings and soft toys will remain away until the end of next week.
- We will keep our sand pits closed until the end of next week.
- Play doh / slime MUST be disposed of and replaced.
Thank you so much for all your efforts in reducing the spread of infection and in providing the data for the daily required reports. Our school and OSHC was not the initial site for the outbreak but the impact on our children and staff has been significant. The outbreak made vacation care a challenge with programs, excursions and plans changing daily. The amount of reporting, team work and family communication required to manage the situation under very testing circumstances does not go unnoticed and our teams worked brilliantly well - it is very much appreciated.
Thank you to the families and staff who helped by complying with the GCPHU requirements.
We are not yet out of the woods - but I can see light.
Storytime has returned
We’re thrilled to invite you to Morning Storytime Sessions in the iCentre. Start your day in the most delightful way — sharing stories, laughter, and quality time together. With a wide variety of engaging picture books, early readers, and class favourites, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. These sessions are a wonderful way to connect, relax, and grow a love of reading.
When: Term 3 - Every morning 8am - 8:20am
Where: iCentre
No bookings required – just drop in and enjoy.
Thank you to Ms Costello for organising this activity. It is a very valuable one.
Oval seating and playground
The finishing touches to the oval seating project are only days away now, with lights and sound to be added to the facility. The fencing has been removed and students are very much enjoying using the facility already.
Stage 2 is the Ninja Warrior Course for senior students. Following discussion with students, it has been ordered and will be completed as soon as possible. This will complete the zone. Total project cost will be approximately $650 000.

Kind regards and keep well
Vic

Spotlight on Our Sponsors
This week, we’re proud to shine a light on two incredible businesses supporting our 2025 Community Fair:
Meet our Sponsor - Cameron Caldwell - Member for Fadden - Fair Partner.
We are proud to announce Cameron Caldwell MP as a Fair Partner!
We are delighted to share that Cameron Caldwell, Federal Member for Fadden, has joined us as one of our Fair Partners.
Cameron’s long-standing service to our community has played a significant role in the life of our school since its opening in 2011. As our former local Councillor, Cameron was also an active member of our School Council for many years. Since his election as the Federal Member for Fadden, he has continued to show unwavering support for our school and the broader community.
We are truly honoured to have him on board as a Fair Partner. Mr Caldwell’s team will be attending the Fair—please stop by their stall, say hello, and take a moment to thank them for their continued support!
Meet our Sponsor - Michael Crandon - Fair Partner
We are proud to welcome Michael Crandon MP as a Fair Partner!
Michael Crandon, Member for Coomera, continues his long-standing support of our school community by joining us as a Fair Partner for this year’s Community Fair.
Michael has served as the Member for Coomera since our school first opened in 2011, and we are sincerely grateful for his ongoing support over the years. Most recently, Mr Crandon was instrumental in helping our school secure funding for two exciting projects – the oval seating upgrade and the upcoming Ninja Warrior playground.
We thank Mr Crandon for his continued commitment to our students, staff and families, and are proud to have him supporting this special community event.
Meet our Sponsor - Cr Donna Gates - Fair Partner
We are proud to announce Cr Donna Gates as a Fair Partner!
We are pleased to share that Cr Donna Gates, Division 3 Councillor and long-time supporter of our school, is also joining us as a Fair Partner.

We are incredibly proud to have Cr Gates supporting our Community Fair and thank her for her continued partnership.
Meet Our Sponsor - Happy Days Brewery - Fair Partner
We’re thrilled to welcome one of our Fair sponsors — Happy Days Brewery!
Founded by two great mates, Johnnie and Jason from Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast, Happy Days Brewery was born from a simple idea:
To share happiness with the world.
Their mission? To craft the best-tasting seltzers on the planet — drinks that not only taste great, but look amazing and help you celebrate life’s happy moments.
We can’t wait to welcome the Happy Days team to our Fair, where they’ll be serving up good vibes and great flavours at the Happy Days Bar.
Let’s show our support

But their contribution extends beyond day-to-day operations — the strong partnership between the Ventia team and our school plays a vital role in our success.
This year, Ventia has once again confirmed their support by proudly sponsoring the Community Fair Fireworks Display, which will close out the evening with a spectacular bang!
Please join us in thanking Ventia for their continued commitment to our school and community.
Proudly Partnering with Local Businesses
We are incredibly proud to be working with a number of local businesses who have come on board to support our Community Fair. Their generous sponsorship helps make this event possible, and we are so grateful for their partnership.
Many of our sponsors will be attending the Fair – we encourage you to stop by, say hello, and thank them for their support of our school and wider community.

Celebration of Learning - Junior School
Prep
This term Prep have started learning about Time. We have been speaking about the duration of time. We have discussed and participated in activities that take a short time and a long time and then explaining why. We have been doing puzzles that take a long time and short time, jumping for one second and for a minute, having racing competitions to deliver ‘mail’ to different locations in the playground and having competitions to see who can put their shoes on first. Students then had to explain why one student was faster than the other student.
Year 1
On the last day of Term 2, 1A joined the rest of the junior school in a sports fun day! We participated in sprint races, lap races and tabloid games. It was a fun day and the weather was delightful. A big thank you to all the families who came along to cheer on all the students.
Year 2
All the students in year 2 have returned refreshed and ready to learn.
This week, we've been learning about persuasive texts. So, if your child suddenly says, "I want an ice cream because…", followed by a clear introduction, three convincing reasons, and a thoughtful conclusion — don’t be surprised!
They’re learning how to express their opinions and persuade others using structured arguments. You might even find their reasoning benefits both them and you.
We're having lots of fun with it and the students are really embracing this new writing style.
We also have been getting ready for NAIDOC, learning about how to treat our friends, Making cards for our sick friend in our class and reward time with bubbles.
